iFTP "Intelligent FTP"
version 2.1d
(c) copyright 1997-1998 Santronics Software Inc
contact: support@santronics.com
Summary
-------
Intelligent FTP (iFTP) is an advanced FTP client application with a
unique and powerful scripting language.
The standard iFTP version also serves as a test drive version for people
who wish to evaluate iFTP for the first time. The difference is in your
registration key received from Santronics Software. If you are
evaluating iFTP, you must get a 30 day test drive registration key from
Santronics. If you decide to purchase the product, you will then receive
an official registration key. Read the file TESTKEY.TXT to get
complete information on to obtain a Test Drive Key. You can use the
test drive for the specified amount of days as indicated in LICENSE.TXT
or REGISTER.TXT. Government or commericial usages fall under strict
license requirements, please read LICENSE.TXT.
Using iFTP allows adminstrators and internet operators to create
reliable and powerful scripted file transfer operations.
The iFTP scripting language offers command such as COPY, MOVE, IF EXIST,
DIAL and many more commands used for complete scripting.
iFTP uses a "virtual drive" concept (ftp:), to distinquish between local
drives and remote drives. See iFTPCODE.TXT for complete description on
this virtual drive concept and the iFTP scripting language.
iFTP is developed and supported by a leading pioneer in communications
and electronic mail software, Santronics Software.
iFTP cost $49.00. Support is done via email and technical voice
support. Fidonet operators can use the backbone echo IFTP_SUPPORT for
additional support.
Fast Install
------------
To install, you can place iFTP and its files in any directory you like.
The Microsoft DLL file WININET.DLL (in WININET.ZIP) is required.
However, you may already have this file in your Windows System
directory. This is true if you have installed Internet Explorer 3.0 or
higher. In which case, you don't need to unzip the WININET.ZIP file.
To test whether you need this file, simply run IFTP and if Windows gives
you an error saying WININET.DLL is required, then unzip WININET.ZIP. If
you ever do install a Microsoft product such as IE, you should delete
the WININET.DLL from the IFTP directory and allow iFTP to use the latest
version from Microsoft. Otherwise, there will be conflicts and it will
show up with abnormal file transfers and connections to ftp sites.
iFTP assumes you have a PPP account or an full time internet connection
or you have access to an FTP server via a LAN or WAN.
iFTP can be used as a dialer and it is intelligent enough to know if you
are connected or not. If you want to use the iFTP dialer, you must have
RAS installed on your computer. For Win95, it may be already installed.
If not, Add Dial-up Networking in your Network Services. For Windows
NT, add RAS servers under network services. If you are simply using
iFTP on a TCP/IP (LAN/WAN) Network, you do not need RAS installed.

This program was designed with the added incentive for PX operators who use
the distribution services of FTP HUBS. See the FTPHUB.ZIP example scripts
if you are using George Peace or IHUB.ZIP if you are using John Souvestre.
